Video isn’t the future of social media, it’s the present. There are 300 hours of video uploaded every minute to YouTube. If that wasn’t shocking enough, the amount of native video uploads to Facebook surpasses that of YouTube. Now, among all of those video uploads, how can you get your video to stand out and perhaps go viral?

Well, that’s what we discussed at the recent Social Media Success with Video luncheon hosted by Arizona State University Alumni Association and presented by the conversant folks at Sitewire.

If you’re still uploading YouTube videos to Facebook then you’re doing it all wrong. Native video publishing on Facebook performs much better than sharing YouTube videos links in terms of engagement and reach. This is because Facebook’s algorithm preferences those native uploads in newsfeeds above any other content, this even includes posts with links and photos.

Thanks to Sitewire, here are some tips on how to make amazing videos that will reach and resonate with your audience .

  1. Teach something
  2. Showcase an event
  3. Highlight your customers
  4. Reveal new information
  5. Show behind the scenes

Which video will you create first?
