I (Abbie, that is) am a big fan of cruise vacations. I’ve been on eight in the past 10 years. In fact, the Fink family is headed to Alaska in July 2012 to celebrate my parent’s 50th wedding anniversary.
What happened on the recent Carnival cruise has brought up some interesting conversations about safety, information-sharing, customer service, etc. Was being stuck on a cruise ship a dream vacation? Certainly not. But the crew’s primary concern was the safety of the passengers, getting everyone back on land as quickly and efficiently as possible.
From a communications standpoint, Carnival’s PR team did a yeoman’s job and from the sound of it, will do everything it can to satisfy the passengers complaints post-cruise.
