On Thursday, May 21st one of HMA Public Relations’ clients, Carrington College, is attempting to earn the GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ title for the most blood pressure tests given in an eight-hour period. Seventeen campuses across the country are participating as an observance of National High Blood Pressure Education Month in May. The previous record was just broken on April 4, 2015 so the goal across all the campuses is 26,450. All the details for the event can be found (and you can also monitor the number of blood pressure checks throughout the actual day) at: http://carringtonbreaksrecords.com. (And of course, we’d love it if you stopped by a campus near you!)
While the GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ title is exciting in itself what is really critical to the success of this effort is the team that is handling the PR for Carrington College. Through our membership in the Public Relations Global Network and PRSA’s Counselors Academy, HMA has assembled a strategic team of communicators in each of Carrington College’s locations to implement programs across the brand. Veronica Biczo, Sr. Manager, Marketing Communications, is based here in Phoenix, so she has access to us here locally and thanks to our relationships, has on-the-ground teams that have the knowledge and expertise needed to manage activities in the markets.
The Carrington team includes:
HMA Public Relations, handling the four campuses in Arizona (two in Phoenix, one each in Mesa and Tucson) and two in Nevada (one each in Reno and Las Vegas)
Landis Communications, handling seven campuses in California (Citrus Heights, Pleasant Hill, Pomona, Sacramento, San Jose, San Leandro and Stockton)
Lewis Public Relations, handling one campus in Mesquite, Texas
The Fearey Group, handling one campus each in Portland, Ore., Boise, Idaho and Spokane, Wash.
The Garrity Group, handling one campus in Albuquerque, N.M.
While most of us have known each other for many years, we have been working together on Carrington College for about six months now and almost every day I see the successes of our partners across the country. In addition, the ability to learn from each of the partners and share strategies and ideas is something many people only talk about. We get to actually do it every day!
