So the term “political football” has come to life.

ESPN pulled the “Are you ready for some football” opening song by Hank Williams, Jr., last Monday night because of a political statement he had made on Fox News.

Is it a cross between “too politically correct” and “the consequences of free speech?”

Or maybe football and politics are more related than originally thought.

The president always calls the locker room of the winning team right after the Super Bowl, and the winning team is always invited to the White House during the off season.

Hopefully there will be a place next week for “all my rowdy friends.”

Until then, have some faith!  This sports fan from the great state of Arizona casts his vote for: “I been waitin’ all day for Sunday night!”

Scott — Great commentary. Complete overreaction to pull the song from the broadcast. In fact, they should have led with Hank’s actual comments because they were hilariously nonsensical! –Rob
