This tip for Tuesday is for the popular, yet overshadowed social media outlet, LinkedIn.

While Facebook is our obsession (come on, admit it), and Twitter is the drug of choice for the multi-tasker in all of us, LinkedIn is sometimes overlooked as the powerful business and networking tool it has become.

So, take this time at the end of the year to learn about how to get LinkedIn and how to build your own network. In our office, we think of LinkedIn affectionately as our online Rolodexes – although Scott had to explain to many of us what the heck a Rolodex was first!

Once on LinkedIn, there are great ways to get involved, especially by joining groups. For our PR buds, here is some great information from Arik Hanson to make sure you are LinkedIn this 2011.

Happy Linking!

  1. This is a great tip! I feel that with Facebook, Twitter and other digital communications strategies occupying a lot of our time, LinkedIn often falls by the wayside. I’m going to make it one of my New Year’s resolutions to bulk mine up a bit.
