Alberto Contador, winner of this year’s Tour de France, has tested positive for a banned substance.
He didn’t take the Roger Clemons’ "Never happened" approach.
He stayed away from Rafael Palmero’s Congressional testimony: "I have never used steroids. Period."
Nor did he step-up Andy Pettitte-style, who admitted using human growth hormone (HGH) on two occasions but denied ever having used steroids.
Nope. Contador said his positive test was the result of tainted meat.
“It is a clear case of food contamination,” Contador said.
This is better suited for Comedy Central than the sports pages.
