Me, well I’ve been hanging out at HMA Public Relations – yep, 17 years ago today, I started at what was then called Hanson, Moser & Associates as an account executive. It seems like yesterday that I sat down with Scott and talked about joining his firm. We met when I was on staff at the Fiesta Bowl and he was doing weekends at KPHO TV5 as a sportscaster, in addition to running the firm. He needed an AE and I was freelancing and willing to bring my few clients into his business. The rest, as they say, is history.
We went from a cool office at 36th Street and Campbell (down the street from La Grande Orange when it was just a coffee cart) to our cool office on 44th Street south of Indian School. We thought we were all that (and a bag of chips) when we upgraded from 5” floppy discs to a computer network.
I’ve seen a lot of changes in our community and in our industry since I joined the firm. But what hasn’t changed is knowing how lucky I am to work with some amazing people today and those that have spent some time at HMA Public Relations, the clients that continue to trust us to share their important messages with their communities and all the people I have come to know over the years that have challenged me to be a better professional and equally as important, a better friend and colleague.
As I celebrate my anniversary, I salute all of you for playing such an important role in that accomplishment.
