Back, Back!

To Cali…

After helping put together an AMAZING PRSA Western District Conference right here in Arizona last year – with our own Abbie S. Fink and PR bud Michelle Olson as our fearless leader chairs – we are so excited to pass the event baton on to the great San Diego Chapter!

Set for March 20-22 in the heart of San Diego’s Gaslamp Quarter, the 2014 PRSA Western District Conference is open to PRSA members as well as communications folks from Arizona, Southern California, Southern Nevada, Hawaii and Colorado and focuses on providing informative, engaging and interactive workshops as well as nationally renowned speakers on all things public relations, marketing and media.

Keynotes this year include Allison + Partners co-founder Scott Pansky speaking on all things company culture – and its impact on the bottom line – as well as New Brand Analytics’ Mark Lomanno speaking on social media’s profound impact on us in its short lifespan – and where it will go from here.

In addition, the Conference has secured more than a dozen local, regional and national communications gurus and whiz kids to host breakout sessions on topics including:

  • Bridging the Digital Divide: Keeping Your Sanity Working with Millennials, Baby Boomers and More
  • State of the Industry: How To Keep Up, From the Press Release to Apps to APR
  • 10 Tips for Effective Stakeholder Outreach and Authentic Communication
  • How to Attain Champagne PR Results on a Beer Budget
  • Protect Your Brand: How Brands Can be Diminished Online (And How to Avoid It!)
  • Tourism PR on a Global Scale: Lessons from LEGOLAND® California Resort
  • Managing Intense Media Scrutiny: Tactics for Effective Communications During a Crisis
  • Your PR Campaign Soul Mates: Finding the Right Demographics
  • How to Communicate When You Can't Communicate: Keeping and Releasing Your Clients’ Secrets

Oh, and my favorite part – the event is a networker’s dream! This year, in addition to regular networking roundtables and happy hours, the brilliant planners came up with SUCH a cool idea to help conference participants get to know each other…a San Diego scavenger hunt at sunset!

So, who’s in?
