abbie-20071HMA Public Relations' own Abbie Fink, vice president and general manager, was quoted in the Nov. 3 issue of PR Week.

Abbie's insight was included in a "PR Technique" article about the importance of good relationships between pharmaceutical companies and patient advocacy groups.

Here are a couple excerpts:

Abbie Fink, VP and GM at HMA Public Relations, which represents advocacy group Arizona Bridge to Independent Living (ABIL), adds that "advocacy groups don't want to be brought into the fold for a sympathy vote or to put a different face on an issue."

Advocacy groups and companies can collide over points of view. Fink says, "The desire should be to share viewpoints and come to a mutual understanding. As long as we can get parties into a conversation, we've found that to be successful."

It's always flattering to be recognized as an industry expert.
