#MediaMonday – Rocky Mountain Emmys

This past weekend was a special one for Arizona’s broadcast media as its best and brightest in television production, talent, direction and camera work were honored at the 35th Annual Rocky Mountain Emmy Awards.

Some great friends and colleagues were honored during the event, including 12 News for Station Excellence, 3TV for Feature News Reporting, FOX 10 for General Assignment Reporting, both CBS 5 and ABC 15 for Investigative Reporting and both the Arizona Cardinals and FOX Sports Arizona for Sports Reporting. NAU and ASU’s student broadcast teams also took home honors. For a full list of winners, please click here.

But for HMA, one category stood out among the others – the Silver Circle.

The Rocky Mountain Emmys established its Silver Circle Society in 1992. To be eligible for the Silver Circle honor, individuals must have served in the broadcast industry for a minimum of 25 years. Nominations are accepted from broadcast journalism, talent, creative, technical, administrative, as well as TV commercial production and TV education. On Saturday, our own Scott Hanson was inducted into this amazing group of veteran media superstars.

Please join us in congratulating Scott by enjoying his acceptance speech – in a tux and everything!

(One note – he actually purchased HMA in 1991, not 1999.)
