#MediaMonday – Kevin Derryberry

Each Monday, we are posting a blog to help our readers get to know the media just a little bit better.
With a TWIST!
No, we aren’t posting story pitch tips or media lists, but instead great stories from the media themselves about their lives, their work and other little known facts! Think of it as your first “networking” opportunity of the week!
Today’s #MediaMonday comes to us from Kevin Derryberry, aka The KMan on Saturday.  You can follow him on Twitter at @KMANonSaturday.
So, KMan, time to share!
What do you want to tell the blogosphere about yourself today?
I’m a native Californian, born in Bakersfield – which made me a Dodger fan.  I was raised in Arizona and am a 25-year season ticket holder for ASU football.  In fact, I have missed just one game during that time, for a wedding.  The missed game was against Utah State. Insane!
I am the long-time and current PA voice of the Horizon High School Huskies in Scottsdale for football, basketball and baseball games.  I also work for the Peoria Sports Complex announcing San Diego Padres and Seattle Mariners spring training baseball games.
I have taken this affinity and love of sports and broadcasting to the Phoenix air waves.
Over the last few months, I have been developing a sports talk radio program called The KMan On Saturday, which airs every Saturday from 2-3 p.m. on the crystal clear signal of KXXT 1010 AM in Phoenix. The show interests many with dialogue from all local sports teams including the Arizona Cardinals, Arizona Diamondbacks and Phoenix Suns. Weave in talk about the National Football League, Major League Baseball, National Basketball Association and National Hockey League and we have the professional circuit covered.
You like the college game?  KMan On Saturday covers ASU sports along with the Pac-12 and major college athletics. Not enough high school coverage in the Valley? Try The KMan On Saturday: sports talk with a unique point of view and a sports culture twist.
We like to think of The KMan On Saturday as a splash of the refreshing.
