Key low resDubai, with its skyline dominated by luxury hotels, overpowers its guests with glitz and glamour.  According to, Sven Wiedenhaupt, general manager of the Jumeirah Emirates Towers, home base for the recent Public Relations Global Network (PRGN) meetings, there are more than 50 five-star hotels there!  Fifty!  The destination gives Las Vegas a serious run for its money on over-the-topness.  In fact, Vegas may be standing on 20 against Dubai’s 21.

There's the Burj Khalifa, the world's tallest building.  The J.W. Marriott in Dubai is the world's tallest hotel.  And of course the luxurious Jumeirah Emirates Towers, adorned with its lobby Rolodex watch and glass elevators.

No doubt the hotel screams elegance, class, top-notch service, opulence, and money.  It’s incredibly nice to say the least.  I’d stay there again.

Then there's the home of the annual Shoot the Temp golf tourney, the Hampton Inn in Prescott, Ariz.  The key card alone, pictured left, says all you need to know about the place:  warm, friendly and glad to see you.

There's certainly room in the world for both.
