By the end of today, we will know whether we have a new leader of the free world or a second-term leader.

American elections are historic.  They are peaceful.  They are a model for the world.

Well, other than the horrific political ads that we’ve been subjected to for the last several months.  Maybe the all-time worst was immediately following Game 4 of the World Series, with what seemed like 10 consecutive minutes of political commercials leading into the Fox 10 News at 9.  I swear – I thought John Hook was going to apologize once we finally got to the news.  He’s been known to make honest observations of his own station in the past.

One can only hope that the electorate does not make decisions based on paid political ads.  Or the “gotcha” moments that are now captured forever on You Tube, like PR Daily’s Top 5 Politcal Gaffes from the 2012 campaign.

I’m so glad I voted early by mail.

  1. The results are in, decisions have been made. And the airwaves are quieter now because of it.

  2. Stephanie Lough says:

New proposition for the next ballot: Political ads are limited to two per program. Who’s with me?!
