We have become a society where sharing our innermost thoughts, whereabouts, likes and dislikes is as easy as a quick 140-character update.
All fun and games…until it isn’t.
But a group of people are trying to use social media to change the laws about stalking. Here’s a great post from my friend Gini. Read it and do something about it. I know I will.
Do you remember the Please Rob Me site from a couple of years ago? It was aggregating people’s Foursquare updates and loading them into the site with, “Please rob me. I”m at Starbucks.” Be really careful about how/where you post your information!
Gini — thanks for sharing your story. It is really scary to realize how vulnerable you could be. It is even more important now with the sharing we all do on social sites to remember, not everyone is on here for the right reasons.
