I like Phoenix Business Journal publisher Don Henninger’s claim that, “We are not a newspaper company.”

He says that economic conditions and new technologies have forced the publication to rethink how it delivers the Valley’s business news – with a hint of what will make news moving forward.

As one would expect with all companies adapting to society’s and businesses’ endlessly evolving desires, there are changes ahead for the Business Journal in 2011. Some of the new editorial highlights are to be expected: Solar, Economy, Manufacturing and, what drives our economy on many fronts, Small Business.

What is most intriguing is that “Social Media” will have a category unto itself.
I (Brittany, that is) know first-hand how the Business Journal has embraced social media. It will be interesting to see how it is covered, what is covered and whether it continues to be of high interest to readers.

  1. The Business Journal is clearly a step ahead of so many other media outlets in the country. I can’t wait to learn more – especially about the small businesses in our community!
