On Slate this week, Seth Johnson writes about the most annoying ad slogans. He asks for writer feedback. The first one he mentions is Greyhound's most recent ad campaign: "There's a reason you've never heard of ‘bus rage.'" The intention here is to demonstrate how much calmer you can be if you ride a Greyhound for your long-distance travels. Problem is the ad went up just as we were learning about the incident in Canada where a Greyhound passenger beheaded his seatmate with a knife and then began "hacking off pieces of the victim's body and eating them." Guess bus rage does exist. Timing is everything.
