If there is one thing Katie likes to do, it’s talk. Talking about the weather or her favorite sports team (the Phoenix Suns); if there is something she wants to say, she will say it. As an opinionated teen, her talking often got her into trouble growing up. So, she turned her gift of gab into something else and began writing instead. After deciding she wanted to write, she began to study communications in college. Countless journalism and writing classes later, Katie quickly realized that with her opinionated ways and new found love for writing, public relations was the field for her.
After completing several communication jobs and internships, Katie was presented with an opportunity to intern with HMA (She likes to consider herself a HMA intern success story). After spending two semesters with the team, Katie now joined HMA as an account coordinator. She is thrilled to be taking her passion for communicating and creativity and making it a major part of her life and career.
An Arizona native, Katie grew up in the central Phoenix area. She graduated from Washington High School and eventually went on to Arizona State University where she graduated from The Hugh Downs School of Human Communication with her Bachelors of Arts in Communications and minor in Event Management. Her passion for writing, hard work and success makes her a welcome asset.
An avid NBA basketball fan, Katie enjoys watching and attending games when she can. When Katie isn’t working, you may also find her catching up on her favorite reality TV episodes, checking out the newest dining establishments or obsessively checking her Twitter and Facebook accounts. She is currently a member of the Lambda Pi Eta Honor Society and plans to be active in the Public Relations Society of America.
