In this business, we spend a lot sharing the success stories of others.
Today, however, we honor one of our own.

Scott with Michelle Olson, Paula Pedene and Felice Appell - all Percy Winners too!
We at HMA are THRILLED to announce that the Phoenix Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) today announced Scott Hanson, APR, Fellow PRSA as the winner of its coveted Percy Award, which is earned by a professional who has demonstrated excellence in public relations and made positive contributions to the community.
Scott is a long-time member of PRSA Phoenix and recognized as one of the most decorated leaders in the Valley, having received many local and national awards for HMA Public Relations over the last 25 years and earned the APR (accredited public relations) certification. A former sportscaster, he is one of only 450 practitioners in the PRSA College of Fellows. The Percy Award was first presented in 1960, and Scott is the first male recipient since 2001. It is only given when a panel of past recipients agrees on a deserving practitioner.

Scott & Phil with their awards
Fun fact – he was surprised with the award during PRSA Phoenix’s February luncheon today at the University Club in Phoenix. We at HMA had a hard time keeping this secret, and are thrilled to finally shout it from the rooftops!
During the event, PRSA Phoenix also honored the Arizona Bridge to Independent Living’s (ABIL) Phil Pangrazio with the Phoenix Award, which recognizes a CEO, business or community leader for practicing exemplary public relations practices within his or her business operations while being active in the community and supporting the industry.
“The PRSA Phoenix Board is pleased to honor Scott and Phil for their leadership and commitment to delivering high-quality communications in their organizations,” said Phoenix PRSA President Christie Silverstein, the public relations director for Valley Forward Association. “Their best practices and expertise are appreciated by our members who attended the event to learn about their experiences and how they execute the objectives of their employees for customers and clients.”
Congrats, boss!
