Each day, I get at least a dozen emails from various marketing communications blogs. When I am busy, many of them get flagged for later – or deleted. However, I have been known to drop everything that I am doing to visit a blog with a killer lead.
Example – this week is a doozy.
I’ve gone and created at least 60 hours of work for myself, meaning I will have about five minutes each day to read and review blogs.
But then, I came across a blog post from PR Daily with the subtitle: “How to make your Facebook page more like that of Southwest Airlines and less like the one your grandmother started last fall.”
And just like that, the 60 hours of work had to wait as I learned a few new tips to helping our own brand and clients’ brands stay relevant in the social media world.
But, this isn’t a tip about the importance of Facebook content – it’s a tip that words matter. And whether writing a story pitch to a producer at CNN or a letter to grandma, be sure to grab your reader’s attention from the on-set.
